About the park
Serengeti originating from a maasai word “siringet” meaning “endless plains” is the second largest national park in Tanzania and the best wildlife sanctuary. It’s uniqueness lead to it being declared as one of the world heritage sites.
It is famously known for “The Great Migration” where millions of wildebeests and thousands of zebras and Thomson’s gazelles cross over Mara or Grumeti river depending on the seaon. This event is such a spectacular view ever seen and experienced.
Time of visit
Can be visited all around the year depending on what you want to see. However the most appropriate timing is around June – October for game viewing.
Wildlife animals
The park is enormously filled with wild animals including: “The Big Five”(Elephant, Lion, Rhino, Leopard and buffalo), cheetah, giraffes, impalas, eland, Thomson’s gazelle, Grant’s gazelle, hyena and black backed jackal.
